Human West Nile virus case and a horse with EEEV in Ottawa
Ottawa Public Health is reporting the first human case of WNV infection in an Ottawa resident for the 2025 season and has confirmed that a horse in Ottawa recently tested positive for EEEV.

Private well users encouraged to conserve water
Due to the extreme dry conditions, three local conservation authorities have issued low water advisories. Users of private wells are encouraged to be prudent with their water use and avoid all unnecessary watering activities, including lawn watering.

Register today for the fall Cleaning the Capital campaign
Registration for the fall campaign is open until Tuesday, September 30. You can choose to clean up community parks and green spaces, roadsides, shorelines or even areas around bus stops. We encourage any residents interested in participating, including high school students looking to complete community involvement hours, to register
