Register today for the fall Cleaning the Capital campaign
If you missed the spring edition of Cleaning the Capital↗, now’s your chance to register for the fall and join thousands of residents across Ottawa to beautify our city – one piece of litter at a time!
Thanks to more than 47,000 participants, the spring campaign was a success, with 1,025 projects registered and approximately 37,000 kilograms of waste collected.
Registration for the fall campaign is open until Tuesday, September 30. You can choose to clean up community parks and green spaces, roadsides, shorelines or even areas around bus stops. We encourage any residents interested in participating, including high school students looking to complete community involvement hours, to register↗ today.
Give back to your community, connect outdoors with neighbours, coworkers, family and friends, and help keep your neighbourhood clean and green! Check out the online interactive map↗ for a list of registered cleanup projects. If you are interested in joining an existing cleanup project, consider reaching out to your local community association.
Important dates for the Cleaning the Capital fall campaign:
August 15: Registration opens
September 2 to October 12: Cleanup kits available for pickup at participating City facilities
September 15 to October 15: Cleaning the Capital fall 2025 campaign
September 30: Registration closes
October 31: Deadline to submit online cleanup reports
Starter cleanup kits will be available for pick up at 14 City facilities↗ across Ottawa.
