Charge into safety: protect your home from battery fires
Making a few small changes in how you charge, store and dispose of batteries can make a big difference in preventing fires at home and at our landfill. With a little extra care, many of these accidents can be prevented.
Thanksgiving schedule changes
The City of Ottawa would like to remind residents of the following schedule changes and City service impacts for the Thanksgiving holiday on Monday, October 13. Waste collection is delayed by one day.
RSV vaccine eligibility expanded to older adults
Ottawa Public Health is recommending that all adults over 75, and adults over 60 at higher risk, get their RSV vaccine this fall. Respiratory syncytial virus (RSV) is a common respiratory virus that can cause cold-like symptoms for many.
Traffic impact: Baseline/Greenbank intersection lane reductions
Baseline Road, from Cornell Street to McWatters Road, and Greenbank Road, between Lisa Avenue and Monterey Drive, will have lane reductions in both directions. These impacts are expected to last until late November 2025.
