Higher than normal Ottawa River flooding expected this week
Based on information provided by conservation authorities, including the Ottawa River Regulation Planning Board, the City of Ottawa is expecting flood levels along the Ottawa River to rise above normal levels by Wednesday or Thursday this week.
Committee approves Transportation Master Plan policies and projects
The City’s Transportation Committee today recommended approving a set of policies as part of the ongoing update to the Transportation Master Plan (TMP) – the City’s blueprint for pedestrian, cycling, transit and vehicle networks across Ottawa.

National Volunteer Week will take place from April 16 to 22. At this week's board meeting, OPL CEO Sonia Bebbington thanked the more than 300 volunteers who contributed more than 4,700 hours to OPL in 2022 as well as the Friends of the Ottawa Public Library Association (FOPLA) for their continued support
Stage 3 LRT: Overwhelmingly underwhelming
Every time I attend presentations or read about plans for Stage 3 LRT to Barrhaven (and Kanata), I come away with the same feeling—I’m underwhelmed.
Children and youth in Ottawa can “Play Free” this year
Every child should have the opportunity to participate in recreation and cultural activities. Play Free is an initiative to reduce financial barriers to participation. The City of Ottawa also offers financial support through the Ottawa Hand in Hand participant subsidy program.

Updates from Ottawa Public Health
OPH Dental Health Services is a team of dental professionals working in various settings across the city including OPH’s dental clinics, schools and in the community. OPH provides access to dental treatment for low-income children and adults living in Ottawa.
Significant Weather Event declared
The City of Ottawa has declared a Significant Weather Event. The Roads and Parking Services team will be out maintaining the City’s sidewalks, roads and the winter cycling network, but it will take longer than usual to restore them to regular conditions.
Easter weekend schedule changes
The City of Ottawa would like to remind residents of the following schedule changes and impacts to City services for the Easter holiday from Friday, April 7 to Monday, April 10.
