🌼 Thank You, Volunteers! 🌼

National Volunteer Week will take place from April 16 to 22. At this week's board meeting, OPL CEO Sonia Bebbington thanked the more than 300 volunteers who contributed more than 4,700 hours to OPL in 2022 as well as the Friends of the Ottawa Public Library Association (FOPLA) for their continued support. The Ruth E. Dickinson Branch has 13 adult and 25 teen volunteers who help us run our many programs, take care of our beautiful plants and more. Thank you for all that you do to support us!

Calling all crafters! Celebrate Earth Day by bringing in all those art supplies you don't need and swapping them for new ones! Help divert materials from the landfill and give them a chance to be used by someone else.​  How does it work?

 

📚 Healing Library: Picture Book Selections 📚

Tough topics can be difficult to talk about with young children. These picture books offer a helping hand in a variety of situations to engage in reflective conversations and meet the social and emotional needs of young children.

💬 Wanted: French Conversation Group Volunteer for June 💬

The Ruth E. Dickinson branch is currently looking for an adult volunteer to facilitate our French Conversation Group on Thursday evenings in June (1, 8, 15, 22, 29) from 6:30 pm to 8:00 pm. Must be 18+ with a fluent or advanced knowledge of spoken French. Interested applicants can apply online through Better Impact or contact our Adult Services Librarian by email.
