IRONMAN returns again this summer, transforming Ottawa’s streets into a racecourse on Sunday, August 2.

The IRONMAN Canada-Ottawa event will start at 6 am with a 3.8-kilometre swim at Britannia Beach followed by a 180-kilometre bike ride through local neighbourhoods.

Recycling and composting at the park is getting easier. The City is adding three-stream waste bins to 48 parks across Ottawa this year. Most of the new bins are already in place, and the rest will be installed by the end of July.

The City of Ottawa is sharing information about a property tax relief program that may be available to property owners whose properties were significantly affected by the July 1, 2026 extreme weather event.

To support businesses as they grow and develop, Council recently approved a new Licensing By-law that modernizes business licensing rules and streamlines processes.

City staff and its partners, including the Canadian Red Cross, will be present to support the community by answering questions on various topics and providing support related to the extreme weather event and recovery.

The City is undertaking the retrofit of the Clarke Bellinger Stormwater Management Pond. The construction will involve the decommissioning of active monitoring and level/flow control systems and conversion of the facility into a passive stormwater pond.
