Project update: Chief William Commanda Bridge multi-use pathway and rehabilitation project
The City of Ottawa began construction on the Chief William Commanda Bridge multi-use pathway and rehabilitation project in the fall of 2021. The project consisted of the construction of a multi-use pathway (MUP) and the rehabilitation of the substructure of the bridge.
2025 Immigrant Entrepreneur Awards

Vulnerable Social Infrastructure (Bubble) By-law Review
The City of Ottawa is considering regulations to provide for safe access to vulnerable social infrastructure like places of worship and religious centres, community centres, schools, daycares, and care homes.
Update: Greenbank Road Realignment and Southwest Transitway
The City is undertaking the design of a new 4-lane arterial roadway with 2-lane segregated median Bus Rapid Transit along the realigned Greenbank Road corridor. This project will provide a key transportation link for the fast-growing community of Barrhaven South.
Updated final draft of new Zoning By-law
The Planning and Housing Committee today received an update on the status of the final draft of the new Zoning By-law, which will be released for public comment on Monday, September 8. The new Zoning By-law will help put the City’s Official Plan into action, encouraging more housing construction to accommodate our growing population.
Council approves 2026 budget directions
The Draft Operating and Capital Budget will be tabled at City Council on Wednesday, November 12. Residents, businesses and community groups are encouraged to share their thoughts. Council will vote on the final budget on Wednesday, December 10.
