The City of Ottawa would like to remind residents of the following schedule changes for the holiday season between Sunday, December 24 and Monday, January 1. Garbage collection will be delayed by one day.

Beginning Monday, January 1, children and youth of Ottawa can participate in the 2024 lineup of Play Free activities. These free drop-in activities include gym sports, swimming, museums and skating.

OPH recognizes that navigating the healthcare system can be complex, and barriers to access can have significant impacts on individuals' well-being. Learn about the services available to help support someone facing healthcare challenges, particularly those residents that do not have access to a family physician or nurse practitioner.

The 39th annual food drive was held on Saturday, December 9th, and raised over 66,300 pounds of food and more than $32,000 for the Ottawa Food Bank and Ottawa region food banks.

OPH and several local hospitals are urging eligible residents, especially those at higher risk, to receive their updated COVID-19 vaccine and annual influenza (flu) vaccine as soon as possible.

Many free recreational activities for all ages are offered by the City throughout the year. For families in need, subsidies for registration fees are also available.

OC Transpo’s winter service changes will come into effect on Sunday, December 24, 2023. Regular schedule adjustments take place four times a year – spring, summer, fall and winter.
