Don’t let 2026 sneak up on you! Starting today, you can prepare for the wonderful winter months ahead by browsing and favouriting next season's activities at register.ottawa.ca.

Registration begins at 9 pm on Tuesday, November 18 for swimming activities and at 9 pm on Thursday, November 20 for recreation, arts, culture and virtual activities.

Skating lessons

Learning to skate is a fantastic way to get active, have fun and make new friends. We’ve updated our program. Check out the new levels and plan to improve your skating skills this winter.

Nepean Sportsplex Christmas Craft Show

The 52nd annual Nepean Sportsplex Christmas Craft Show starts this week! From Thursday, November 6 to Sunday, November 9, you can shop a variety of items from over 100 local and Canadian vendors.

Hours:

  • Thursday: 10 am to 8 pm (2 for 1 admission all day)

  • Friday: 10 am to 8 pm (2 for 1 admission from 5 to 8 pm)

  • Saturday: 10 am to 6 pm

  • Sunday: 10 am to 4 pm

Admission:

  • Adults: $7

  • Seniors and youth: $5

  • Children under 12 are free

Canada’s Forest Trust Corporation sponsorship

Ottawa’s tree canopy got a fresh boost of support on Friday, October 24 as we celebrated a new sponsorship with Canada’s Forest Trust Corporation! As part of this project, which is the first of its kind for any municipality, the Let’s get growing campaign raises funds that support the growth of our city’s tree canopy, supporting our commitment towards climate change and protecting our environment for generations to come.

Commemorative Naming applications

The City’s Commemorative Naming Program is now accepting fall applications – to nominate people, histories and legacies that have helped shape Ottawa’s community. The nomination period runs until Tuesday, December 2.

Community Galleries: last call for exhibition proposals

From now until November 13, the City of Ottawa Community Galleries Program is accepting exhibition proposals from regional artists, collectives, curators and community arts organizations. Applications will be reviewed by a peer assessment committee, and selected exhibitions will be presented in 2026. Inquiries: cgc@ottawa.ca
