Ottawa Alert is now live!

The City of Ottawa and the Ottawa Police Service have launched a new public emergency notification system, and registration is now open↗.

Ottawa Alert↗ delivers urgent updates directly to residents, businesses, and visitors via text message, email, or mobile app. Subscribers will receive timely, location-based information and instructions during emergencies.

This system allows the City and Ottawa Police Service to communicate directly with registered users during and after emergencies to help protect lives, property, and the environment. This new tool will not replace existing methods the City uses to communicate, but a new option to enhance effective communication.

To sign-up, either download the app from the Apple Store↗ or Google Play Store↗ or register online↗ with a phone number or email address.

Subscribers can choose how they want to receive alerts – either through the Alertable app, email, SMS or telephone.
