At the library this week

Seniors

  • Drop-in on Wednesdays at 10 am: Join us for conversation and laughter as we play games, share stories, and  connect with each other in a relaxed atmosphere. Various activities will be provided.

Children

  • The Westing Game by Ellen Raskin: Think you can solve the mystery? This story features a mind-melting murder mystery, an apartment building full of suspects, and a million-dollar prize. *(Content warning for a few instances outdated language referring to characters with disabilities; the book was published in 1978) Recommended by Page C.

  • Summer Escapes for Grade 4: Summer Stories to savor with popsicles and that great feeling of end. Recommended by Children's Programmer A.

Teens

  • Lumberjanes by ND Stevenson: What says summer more clearly than summer camp, best friends, smores and supernatural surprises! I highly recommend this delightful series to hardcore lady-types of all ages.  Recommended by Adult Programmer S.

  • The Scarlet Alchemist by Kylie Lee Baker: Teens will run through this book and there's good reason! With a heroine (who can bring people back to life) that you can't help but root for as she tries to save the prince from his Empress mother, it's no wonder that it was read this in less than 2 days. Recommended by Librarian S.

Adults

  • Outside magazine (in print and through the Libby App): Interesting articles and inspiring stories that provide motivation to get outside and get moving and exploring. Recommended by Librarian K.

  • Happiness for Beginners - Katherine Center: Newly-divorced, 30-something Helen signs up for a wilderness survival course as a way to push herself out of her comfort zone and to prove to herself that she can handle the challenge! Little does she know, her younger brother's friend, Jake, has signed himself up for the same course. A story about personal growth, learning from others and finding love where you least expect it. Recommended by Librarian C.

Francophones
