🎭 What Would Ms. Hina Do? 🎭 

The OPL, in partnership with the NAC, will showcase award-winning author and screenwriter Catherine Hernandez who will be presenting her speech "What Would Ms. Hina Do?" The performance explores the themes of community and allyship in the context of Black History Month. Wednesday February 22 at 7:00 pm at the National Arts Center (Peter A. Herrndorf Place). This February, we invite you to read and reflect with Esi Edugyan's critically acclaimed, coming of age story, Washington Black. This fascinating novel follows the protagonist "Wash" who escapes slavery in Barbados and travels the world: he goes to Virginia, Nova Scotia, and Morocco. Wash pursues his passions, love, and finding his own identity. As part of the library's Black History Month program, this digital eBook is available to borrow right away, with no holds, for all library members! 🎮 Borrow Videogames from the Library 🎮 

Calling all gamers! Did you know you could borrow videogames with your library card? OPL has Playstation, Nintendo Switch, XBox, and Wii games for children, teens, and adults! 

  • Drop in on select Fridays from 3:30 pm to 6:00 pm to play video games on our PS4 console in the Teen Zone! We have FIFA, NBA, NHL, Rocket League and lots more! For ages 12 to 17.
