Mental Health Week
This year, May 4-10, marks the 75th National Mental Health Week. As Mental Health Week begins, we are reminded of the importance of raising awareness and fostering an environment that promotes wellness for all members of our communities.
This year, the Canadian Mental Health Association Mental Health Week theme, “Come together, Canada. Stronger Connections, Better Mental Health,” highlights the importance connections play in our overall health and well-being.
OPH encourages everyone to recognize the role we each play in supporting mental health through connection. This year’s theme highlights how everyday social connections can strengthen well-being, foster belonging, and reduce isolation to help build healthier, more connected communities.
Join us this Mental Health Week by engaging in meaningful conversations, participating in community activities, and exploring helpful resources:
OPH partnered with the University of Ottawa to support mental health among immigrants and racialized populations. Join us to learn about new Canadian research studies and share your experiences on May 7, 2026, from 10:00 a.m. – 12:00 p.m. at Ron Kolbus Lakeside Centre, Ottawa. No registration required. See the attached flyer for more information.
