Logging a service request helps us connect you with available support
We know many residents are still dealing with the impacts of the July 1 extreme weather event. If you were affected and have not reported it yet, please do so.
Reporting helps us connect you with available resources and information and helps us understand and analyze the extent of the storm's impact. Please note that logging a service request will not result in City staff entering your home.
How to report extra waste
If you live outside of the hardest hit areas of wards 4 (Kanata-North), 7 (Bay), 8 (College) and 9 (Knoxdale-Merivale), and have waste from the July 1 extreme weather event that needs to be collected, submit a service request for garbage collection online↗ or call 3-1-1. When submitting a service request online, select “storm-related waste” in the drop-down menu under “What is the issue?”
If your insurance company needs to review damaged items before they are disposed of, you can wait to submit your service request until the materials are ready for collection.
Note: Storm-related waste is being collected by separate garbage trucks, not regular waste collection trucks. Please leave all waste at the curb as it will be collected at a later date.
How to report basement flooding
If your basement has flooded, you can report it online↗ or call 3-1-1.
More information about sewer backups and basement flooding can also be found on our website↗.
Note: If you need to report both extra waste and basement flooding, please submit a separate service request for each issue. Different City teams respond to these requests and submitting them separately helps ensure they are routed to the right team as quickly as possible.
